Chethan Bangalore

When u picture a hill station holiday in your head, the first picture that comes to your mind is quaint little cottage surrounded by mist with its own little fireplace to keep you warm and snug. Well this place makes that picture come to life. There is no five star property that will give you the experience that this little place will offer. That coupled with excellent customer service by the people in charge is an experience you just cant beat. The food was excellent and the hospitality outstanding. Thanks to Shaheed and his son who made us feel very welcome.

This wonderful cosy British built villa in Kodaikanal is the perfect place to stay, especially if you are travelling with children. It has an old world charm with beautiful greenery all around and a great place if you want to get away from the city and unwind. The lawn and outdoor play area was an instant hit with the kids who were running all around the place and the cold weather certainly helped them move around without getting tired. The bonfire and barbecue was an added attraction. Our stay at this home-stay was the high point of our vacation with a homely stay and not to mention our host Shaheed and his brother Thanveer who took great care of us. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone who is travelling to Kodaikanal. You won't forget this trip.

I had visited the place in the beginning of July 2012 on my honeymoon... It was a lovely place which would let you escape from the hustle-bustle of the city and relax and soak in the nature. We stayed in the independent cottage in Dalethorpe and were pleasantly surprised by the loveliness of the room. Mr. Shaheed, our host was most graceful and courteous. He also pointed out some of the lovely places in Kodaikanal and we also had the most lovely experience of plucking fresh pears right from the trees in front of our cottage.. My wife has now laid down terms and conditions that if we ever go to Kodaikanal again (which she is sure to do) , we will be staying at Dalethorpe and at that same cottage. What else can I say.. Lovely.. Pleaseantly Surprising and Absolutely MIND BLOWING..

It is always good to travel back in time yet not to feel far away from home... This time my trip to Kodai was such a one. and a major part was played by our stay at DALE THORPE....Its an old bungalow with an old fire place and very friendly hosts..... Me and my family would like to thank Mr.Shaheed and his crew for having us with them and making us feel at home.... The best part of Dale Thorpe is it is not far away from the town and it has an easy access to the main sites of Kodai... The way they make bread omelet is mind blowing... We are just waiting to make it at home.... It is a place a family want to spend time together and relax before getting back in the race of life..... Thank you Shaheed uncle....
